Early adoption doesn't prove long-term value.

THE CHALLENGE:

A private equity firm was eyeing a fast-growing, celebrity-backed beauty brand and needed celebrity brand due diligence to answer one big question: Is the momentum driven by founder hype, or by true product strength and staying power?

THE REMCAL INSIGHTS APPROACH:

RemCal Insights conducted 18 in-depth virtual interviews with current users and competitive users (no lapsed users yet due to brand infancy). We explored motivations, product experience, and perceptions of quality, packaging, and brand promise.

THE IMPACT:

The research revealed that while the founder drove initial excitement, product quality and brand depth weren’t keeping pace. These early signals helped the firm assess long-term potential and ultimately walk away from the deal with confidence.
